Distingushing Rio Mutation

Leaves produce very dark green- muted greens - silvery muted greens -white and creamy white leaves . Truly no two leaves i have seen have the exact same coloring /patterns .They can be more rounded when plants are in a juvenile form .

Our Rio Mutation has always grown in low to medium light around 100 to 300 foot candle .We have recently moved them to grow racks i will keep you updated to the progress .

Occasionally Rio Mutation may throw a mostly green or green leaf it has been my experience that the variegation comes right back .I have only had to chop the top off an amazing single plant that turned green which is honestly a really good % of stability .

Growth Habit

Rio Mutation grows fairly close together or “super stacked “as i call them or farther apart .When placed on a moss totem the plant will mature with larger leaves and the spacing will become much farther apart.

The Rio pictured above is not a mutation.

This came from a neglected pot of Rio, i used to grow them some years ago .This pot was in very highlight and lacked nutrients which caused this. Please use caution when purchasing from people .Bear in mind as a Rio grows and reaches maturity the leaves change rather dramatically with changes in coloring and massive leaf size. I hope all the photos and information i have provided will help you make a wise choice .
